When Richard Conte started targeting classic movies to make into playsets, some choices were obvious.  "What is the ultimate Foreign Legion movie?".  Beau Geste, of course.  The playset that resulted from that early brainstorming session does full justice to that great film.

The adjective you have to use in relation to this set is "huge".  It was shipped in two "huge" boxes...and that was just for the "huge" fort.  The figures and accesories arrived in a third box.  In fact, the paradox of this set is that it's most amazing feature...it's sheer size...is also it's biggest drawback.  You need alot of space to really use the fort to it's maximum potential. But if you can find the space...you can enter right in to the action of the movie.

Conte Collectibles followed up the "huge" Beau Geste set with a second set, Adventures of the Foreign Legion.   This set featured more poses of both the French Foreign Legion and the Tuaregs. It also came with two sand dune pieces which are great "sets" for imagin-action photoagraphy.

Hidden behind one of the pictures is a page of black and white photos that capture the feel of the movie remarkably well.  As always, when you click on a picture, you never quite know where you'll end up.
