This is a nice mid-condition example of one of the more difficult to find Marx western playsets.

The box is far from perfect, but not really horrible.  I give it a C-5.5 rating...It's got some tears at the corners of the hinge fold, a little creasing, a little dirt, and a few little scrapes in the litho. There is a little piece of the right side flap that is torn off. It's got pretty good shape and brightness. (More pictures further down).

The rare Custer figure is present and in good shape.

Both wagons are present.  The covered wagon only has the tool box as far as accessories go.  The Medical wagon has a few more of the accessories.  One of the rare white drivers unique to this set is present and in good shape with an intact whip.  I included a second driver in the more common cream...but no whip. Both hitches are intact.

There are 8 mounted 7th Cavalry figures.  There are 2 each of the basic foot cavalry poses and four each of the two firing poses. There are a whopping 64 Indian figures. That's five full sets of the mold group with the revised poses.  One of the little chiefs sitting with the peace pipe is missing.  (Darn it!) Three of the five mounted chiefs even have the easily-lost lance feather.  No broken bowstrings. All the running chiefs have their "chicken bone". Only one of the five Indian ponies has broken reins.

The liabilities of the set are the absence of the playmat, the one missing Indian, the missing wagon accessories, the one missing wagon driver, and the missing bags and instructions.  The strengths of the set are the good condition of the figures that are present, including the Custer figure, and the relative completeness of the set.  This set would never appeal to the MIB only crowd, but it is a great set for those, who, like me, like to play with and enjoy hard to find Marx playsets at a less than astronomical price. (That's not to say I'm letting it go cheap!)  Hopefully there is someone out there who places a value on this set similar to the value I place on it.   If you'd like to make an offer, e-mail me at playsetaddict@charter.net.  Put "Little Big Horn" in the Subject line.  Thanks.

I find it amazing that all the bow stings are intact.  Even all five of the Indians with the arrow in their side have the arrow intact.
